[dcs_p]I think the dog days are here. I’m lying on the beach, watching my grand-kids playing in the surf. Angie and Stella are bustling about because they’re putting on a Full Moon party tonight, a monthly occurrence around here. Victor’s been recruited to barbecue; he’s had ribs marinating since last night. Now he brings me a cold one, and I gaze out at the ocean, dotted with sails and speedboats. An August haze hangs on the horizon where an oil tanker glides it way slowly southward. Victor wants to talk, but I don’t even have energy for this. I close my eyes, drowsing, feel the sun’s warmth on my face. It’s the dog days of summer.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]
