The Green Owl For Breakfast

The Green Owl For Breakfast

[dcs_p]The Green Owl for breakfast today, this time with Angie. We’re a comfortable couple–we’ve been married too long not to be. We sit by the window, watching the tourists bumping into each other.  Friday morning and Atlantic Avenue is jammed. Sometimes, coming here, I feel like a tourist.[/dcs_p]I’m halfway through the editorial section of the Post, idly contemplating the weekend. I ask Angie what she’d like to do. She gives me a funny look and says, “Louie, you haven’t been home one weekend this month.” Hmm. She might be right. I haven’t been around much. “I’ll make it up to you, baby.” I tell her.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]The Green Owl For Breakfast is written in the voice of Bellomo’s main character, mobster Louie Morelli. On board the Stella di Mare, and heading out for a little Bahamian adventure. It’s a boy’s weekend–which really means no wives. Girlfriends are allowed, even encouraged. My girl invited a hot friend for my cousin, Anthony, but Victor showed up with the klepto–the chick who get’s turned-on by shoplifting. It’s noon, and she’s already sloshed. Victor likes them wild, but not drunk. He’s considering dumping her in Miami when we stop to pick-up Nathan.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Bahamiam Adventure is a little anecdote reflective of Patricia Bellomo’s main character, mobster Louie Morelli. Mob Blog: March Madness In Miami, March 15, 2012

[dcs_p]It’s March Madness in Miami. Only this madness has nothing to do with basketball or brackets. It’s more about the rackets–the Russian rackets and a couple of big name rappers who showed up at my nightclub in Miami last night.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Actually, I wasn’t even in attendance, but my manager and business partner, Franco, tells me that the Russians aren’t the only ones who dig Dom Perignon. Franco had a big-name rapper show up last evening with an entourage of fifty. First thing he requested was ten bottles of the bubbly. Franco said everything was fine until the rapper’s chick started making eyes with a Cuban dealer on the dance floor. Next thing you know, fists were flying. Out came the Sig; fortunately, nobody was shot and Miami PD hauled off the offenders.[/dcs_p]Franco said the club was so jammed, half the patrons didn’t realize there was a scuffle. The rapper smacked his chick and ordered more Dom and a bottle of Louis X111 cognac. So Franco wasn’t complaining. All he said was, “Lou, you missed a good show. It’s March madness at Franco’s.”[/dcs_p][dcs_p]March Madness was written from the point of view of Patricia Bellomo’s mobster, Louie Morelli. Bellomo writes about mobsters and millionaires in South Florida. Her books are available on Amazon. com and Barnes and Noble. In print and digital formats.

Temptation On My Terrace, March 10, 2012

[dcs_p]This morning I head outside for my morning swim. It’s looking pretty gray here in Delray Beach, and it’s rained on and off throughout the night. I can hear the surf roaring, but as soon as I step onto my terrace, I see a blond sitting poolside. Her long hair is whipping in the wind, and she’s wearing a black bikini. She’s got a  shape like the female volleyball players I see on ESPN.  I notice this first, before she turns and smiles. “Hi,” she says, “I’m Ingrid.”[/dcs_p]Ingrid has just the faintest trace of an accent. If I had to guess–and I am–I’d say she’s twenty-one, tops. I’m tempted to ask if she’s at the wrong house when she hastens to inform me she’s Isabella’s new nanny. Hmm. Since Stella and Isabella are practically living with us now, this could be interesting. Not that I would ever fool with a girl this young, and certainly not in my own home, but she makes for some nice scenery.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Temptation On My Terrace is written in the voice of Patricia Bellomo’s main character, mobster Louie Morelli.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Bellomo’s books available at Amazon.com & B&N. Loser Son-in-law, February 27, 2012

Stella’s punk husband raided their checking account. I know my baby’s upset–she showed up for Sunday dinner dejected as hell. Of course, she’s protecting the rat and didn’t confide in me, but Angie got the truth out of her. Angie’s afraid I’m going to react and do something drastic, and she’s right. I’ve just about had it with this loser abusing my daughter. I ask my wife what Stella’s husband is doing with their money, and she says grimly, “gambling,” and now I’m really pissed. Angie gets alarmed. “Louie,” she says, “you need to remember that Stella loves him.”

Victor’s Valentine Is A Klepto, February 15, 2012

[dcs_p]Victor hooks up with a chick he met in Miami. Sally’s wild … the kind of girl who likes to show off her implants to his buddies. It’s not like Victor’s the jealous type, and hey, with a chick like Sally you can’t be serious. So yesterday we’re lunching at Bellagio’s in West Palm and Sally shows up. It’s been a little cool in South Florida, but not cool enough to justify her long wool overcoat, and we’re wondering why a chick who doesn’t like to wear clothes is bundled up for a blizzard.[/dcs_p] Bellagio’s is on Rosemary in the heart of City Place, West Palm’s premier shopping district. So while Victor and I are munching on salads, Sally takes off for Banana Republic. Thirty minutes later she returns. No Banana Republic bags, but she pulls a light green shirt from the inside pocket of her overcoat and hands it to Victor. “Happy Valentine’s Day, baby,” she says. Victor’s a little put off by this. “Doll,” he tells her, “if you needed money all you had to do was ask.” Sally smiles and says she doesn’t need the money, but she gets a rush from shoplifting. “It turns me on,” she says.
