Millionaire Mobster Blog Body Art, July 12, 2012

[dcs_p]Millionaire Mobster Blog Body Art, July 12, 2012. My son, Michael, who lives in the New Orleans area, decides to vacation at his parents house. Don’t get me wrong: My family is always welcome.  But Michael shows up with a couple of buddies and their girlfriends, and now we’ve got a houseful. We don’t even mind that–Angie likes company. And I certainly can’t complain–these young chicks don’t wear much, giving us all an eyeful. Michael’s replaced his bimbo with a new girlfriend (hopefully temporary). This one has more tattoos than I can count, and in some … unusual … places. My wife thinks she has issues. Obviously. Victor says to her, “Doll, you’re showing more ink than skin.”[/dcs_p][dcs_p]The little chippy gets offended. It turns out she’s expressing her personality with “body art”. She calls Victor an old fogey and we all get a laugh at that.  Later, Michael tells me: “Don’t worry, Dad. She’s just a friend.”[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the crime thrillers Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare. [dcs_p]Had to meet a man from Tallahassee yesterday. This is what I love about politicians. The state’s damn near been washed away, but the guy needs money for a “pet project”– the kind that he’s not going to talk about on TV. He knows I’ll support him because he’s the one I tap for favors. I also keep him in line by supplying his vices. But I have to laugh. Yesterday morning he’s on the news decrying the plight of his people–many of whom have been flooded out of their homes. Then last night he’s playing at a little cathouse in Pompano Beach. After we discuss our business, of course.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the crime thrillers Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare. [dcs_p]I’ve got the Stella di Mare in slip at the Miami Marina. Victor and I came down yesterday morning, bringing along our girlfriends, the ones that “just want to have fun.” They’re also pretty damn good to look at. So it was the perfect afternoon, the girls were sunning themselves on deck and sipping a little of the bubbly and getting silly in the way that I don’t mind, when my son, Michael, shows up with three buddies in tow. So now I’m busted. And there’s no excuse–the girls don’t even put on their bathing suit tops. His friends are loving it. Michael says, “Dad,” and I put my arm around him and say, “Maybe you should call first.” I don’t ask him not to tell his mother; we both know he won’t.[/dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the sexy crime thrillers, Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare. Millionaire Mobster Blog: St. Louis Cathedral, June 10, 2012

[dcs_p]Wedding in the Big Easy yesterday. If you’re new to this blog, you may not know that New Orleans is my hometown, and where I spent most of my life. I’m in South Florida now–where everybody gets to be somebody else.  But in New Orleans I’m Louie Morelli. Period. The name speaks for itself.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]My friend was thrilled Angie and I flew in for his daughter’s wedding. He’s a jazz musician, a pretty famous guy, but I’m not going to say his name on account of his association with me might be bad PR. Anyway, the afternoon service at the Cathedral was beautiful. It rained too hard for pictures in Jackson Square, but the bride was lovely and the saints were marching, and it felt good to be back home. There are a lot of memories here, but sitting in the pew with Angie and watching the flower girls prancing by reminded me of Stella when she was little and how she always thought the St. Louis Cathedral was named after me.[/dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the crime thrillers Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare. [dcs_p]”Uncle Louie, I need your help,” my niece, Mia tells me. We’re on the phone; Mia’s in Tampa and I’m at my office in Boca.  Mia is Angie’s sister’s kid, a pretty girl with a bum for a boyfriend. And Mia really does need my help. Turns out her jackass boyfriend has talked her into embezzling five grand from the Chevy dealer she works for. Hmm. Not good. Mia’s been caught, fired, and given an ultimatum: Make good on the money, and we won’t prosecute. She calls me up in tears. “Don’t tell my mother,” she pleads.[/dcs_p]”It’ll be our secret,” I promise. “And of course, I’ll give you the money. But you’ve got to get rid of the bum.”[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Uncle Louie was written in the voice of Patricia Bellomo’s main character, mobster Louie Morelli. Millionaire Mobster Blog: Beach Bum, May 25, 2012

[dcs_p]Las Olas Boulevard this morning to have a meet with a guy who’s looking to borrow a little cash. Now, you’ve got to figure by the time they get to me, they’ve already been shot down at the bank. But in this case the guy’s invisible–he doesn’t have a bank account, never applied for a loan in his life. And he’s fifty years old. He also happens to live in a high-rise at the corner of A1A & Las Olas; prime real estate in Fort Lauderdale.[/dcs_p]Still, he’s small time, supplying cannabis and cocaine to spring breakers and working girls. He tells me he was a spring breaker himself, arriving thirty years ago. The beach has been good to him, but he’s used too much of his own product. Plus, it’s getting harder and harder to make a buck. He’ wants the money to invest in a beach service operation, renting chairs and cabanas and jet-skis. He’s got the money for the inventory, but he needs to bribe a civil servant for the license. It turns out he has some kind of a record. I kind of like the guy, so I tell him yes. And just like that, we’re in business.
