[dcs_p]Naples today. I’m at the Inn of Fifth for a business meet. The inn’s in the heart of downtown Naples, a charming boutique hotel. We’re in a small conference room upstairs, overlooking the courtyard pool. It’s a conservative group—five men in suits. The man who called the meeting, a big name developer, has his “secretary” with him. I recognize the young lady instantly. She’s an employee of a Pompano Beach men’s club. Not that I frequent the club, but I’m pretty sure she dated Victor for awhile. In fact, I know she did. She’s blond and big-breasted, with roses tattooed on her breasts. She’s wearing a blue dress, and the roses aren’t visible, but I remember how much she liked to show them off.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]She catches my eye, gives me a little smile. “I’m in a new line of work,” she says. “It’s corporate.”[/dcs_p][dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the crime thrillers, Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare.
