Millionaire Mobster Blog: St. Louis Cathedral, June 10, 2012

[dcs_p]Wedding in the Big Easy yesterday. If you’re new to this blog, you may not know that New Orleans is my hometown, and where I spent most of my life. I’m in South Florida now–where everybody gets to be somebody else.  But in New Orleans I’m Louie Morelli. Period. The name speaks for itself.[/dcs_p][dcs_p]My friend was thrilled Angie and I flew in for his daughter’s wedding. He’s a jazz musician, a pretty famous guy, but I’m not going to say his name on account of his association with me might be bad PR. Anyway, the afternoon service at the Cathedral was beautiful. It rained too hard for pictures in Jackson Square, but the bride was lovely and the saints were marching, and it felt good to be back home. There are a lot of memories here, but sitting in the pew with Angie and watching the flower girls prancing by reminded me of Stella when she was little and how she always thought the St. Louis Cathedral was named after me.[/dcs_p]Patricia Bellomo is the author of the crime thrillers Louie Morelli’s Daughter and Stella di Mare. She writes about millionaires and mobsters in South Florida, New Orleans, and Detroit.
