The Prince of Mafia Princes

The Prince of Mafia Princes

Patricia Bellomo releases her latest South Florida thriller, The Prince of Mafia Princes.

Patricia Bellomo calls the Detroit area home, but her favorite place to be during the brutally cold months of winter is in sunny South Florida. Bellomo and her husband typically stay in several locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Occasionally, they trek down to Miami or the Florida Keys. “I love all of Florida,” says Bellomo. “It’s a great state, but I have a preference for South Florida. The lifestyle suits me. There are some really fabulous restaurants up and down the Gold coast, not to mention the shopping and nightlife.”

Fans of Bellomo’s main character, Louie Morelli, know that while the mobster maintains a residence in his hometown of New Orleans, he lives in Delray Beach. Three books in her series, including The Prince of Mafia Princes, are set in the Sunshine State. “Louie lives in Delray Beach, has an office in Boca Raton, and keeps a condo in Miami. Business interests take him to Fort Lauderdale as well as to the Cayman Islands. And he dines at some of the area’s finest restaurants.”

Many scenes in Bellomo’s latest novel are set in area restaurants, including Trattoria Romana and Villagio in Boca Raton, Tramonti’s in Delray Beach, and D’Angelo’s Pizza in Fort Lauderdale. But it’s not all wining and dining. In The Prince of Mafia Princes one of the characters is shot and transported to Broward Medical. Prostitutes ply their trade at a fictitious Fort Lauderdale hotel and a couple of nasty characters meet their end, one of them in the wine cellar of a fabulous Star Island mansion.

“South Florida, with its influx of travelers and transients, makes an ideal setting for some of the mischief that befalls Louie and company,” says Bellomo.

In The Prince of Mafia Princes Louie aims to protect his son, who is being blackmailed by an enterprising escort and her nefarious Russian associates. Things escalate after Louie’s faithful soldier, Victor DeAngelis, is gunned down on the Fort Lauderdale strip.

Like Bellomo’s previous books, The Prince of Mafia Princes is an action-packed thriller. Told entirely from Louie’s point of view, the novel reveals his vulnerable side while highlighting the complex relationship he has with his wife. Though Louie professes to love his wife, he won’t stay faithful to her, and the flings he indulges with gorgeous young women further complicate their marriage.

The Prince of Mafia Princes is Bellomo’s fourth book. The series is non-sequential, and you can delve into this latest mafia thriller without having read any of Bellomo’s prior releases, namely Louie Morelli’s Mistress, Stella di Mare, and Louie Morelli’s Daughter.

All of Bellomo’s books can be purchased online via Amazon or Barnes and Noble’s websites or at your neighborhood bookstore. The novels are available in print, as well as on all digital formats, including Kindle, Nook, and ibooks.
