Las Olas Boulevard this morning to have a meet with a guy who's looking to borrow a little cash. Now, you've got to figure by the time they get to me, they've already been shot down at the bank. But in this case the guy's invisible--he doesn't have a bank account, never applied for a loan in his life. And he's fifty years old. He also happens to live in a high-rise at the corner of A1A & Las Olas; prime real estate in Fort Lauderdale.

Millionaire Mobster Blog: No Thongs Allowed, May 4, 2012

The week started with gusty winds and rain, but now the sun is shining and the surf is calm. The sea is smooth as glass, and Victor and I have decided to blow off the rest of the day. We take his Chris Craft south on the Intracoastal, docking at the Sands Patio Bar in Pompano. It's barely noon and the place is already crowded. We've got some entertainment too; a drunk, frizzy-haired blond in a thong.
